Here is a SURE way to get a VERY high level quickly:

When in the Huline village, go behind the canteen, and meet a guy who tells you a password of some sort. After this, go back to the entrance, and go straight ahead, and behind a building. There, you'll find an abandoned house. Go there, down, and into the place. Once you reach the door, click on it, and you give the guy the password. You strain through a conversation which ends up that the thief will get you Firestorm (Darkstorm), if you kill Kelsrick. You'll notice a key hanging behind him. Take it. Use the key throughout the village. Eventually, you come across a through knife. Keep it. Take it the the town magician, have him form it into a hand-held weapon. Then, go to the guard that is rather sore towards you, and stand 1-2 steps away from him. Equipre the blade, and swing to your delight. He won't attack unless you're too close, so just hit him for a while. Then equipre your regular sword, hit him twice, and he'll die. Rush behind to the thief's hideout, and you'll also get the sword... (You can reach about level 16-18 with this method)
