Lands of Lore 3 Armor

Armor
Fine leather armor
This is a well tooled ornamental suit of leather armor. Common.
Acceptable for hunting boar from horseback, this armor will quickly loose it's usefulness when hunting more dangerous prey.
The worked leather that this attractive suit is crafted from would seem to offer a poor defense against any form of attack.
Leather Armor
This heavy armor is crafted of many overlapping strips of tanned, padded leather. Common.
Because of the oils used in it's manufacture, this armor also affords limited protection against natural fire damage.
More functional then the more ornamental suits worn by boar hunting parties, this
armor offers reasonable protection for the beginning adventurer.
Studded leather armor
This simple suit of leather armor is covered with rounded iron studs. Uncommon.
The thick padding and metal ingots that adorn this armor offer added protection against attacks by blunt weapons.
The heavy studs that adorn this armor appear dented and worn.
Soft Leather Armor
A suit of finely crafted leather armor that is so well made it could pass for clothing. Very rare.
The material of this armor has been treated with a special unguent that renders the wearer immune to acid attacks, and reduces damage from fire by half.
The surface of this leather armor is soft, pliant, and slightly damp to the touch.
Chainmail shirt
A standard In the Gladstone Guards uniform, this shirt of iron rings protects the wearer from harm. Common.
When worn, this shirt gives added protection against physical piercing attacks.
Chainmail offers significant protection against arrows and crossbow bolts.
Obsidian Chainmail
This magical armor is crafted of fine stone links. Artifact.
This suit of chainmail offers significant protection against magic and most forms of physical attack. Beware opponents capable of piercing attacks, which can more easily penetrate the armors rings.
Lighter in the wearing than it would seem, each ring of this beautiful suit of chainmail has been lightly etched with runes.
Platemail Breastplate
This well crafted breastplate has reinforced leather straps and protects the wearer from damage. Uncommon.
This armor is most useful against edged or blunt attacks. Use caution when facing foes that employ electrical or fire based attacks.
The protection provided by this breastplate is superior to other lesser forms of armor.
Field Platemail
This well crafted suit of armor covers the chest, back, and upper arms. It  has reinforced leather straps and protects the wearer from damage. Rare.
This armor is most useful against edged or blunt attacks. Use caution when facing foes that employ electrical or fire based attacks.
The plates of this armor are thick and ridged, making it useful against most forms of physical attack.
Full Platemail
This well crafted suit of armor covers the entire body in overlapping iron plates. It  has reinforced leather straps and protects the wearer from damage. It is the most effective form of mundane armor available, and is at times more resilient then some magical protections. Very Rare.
This armor is most useful against edged or blunt attacks. Use caution when facing foes that employ electrical or fire based attacks.
The plates of this armor are thick and ridged, making it useful against most forms of physical attack.
Reflective Platemail
This is a suit of finely crafted ornamental platemail. Artifact.
Enchanted with powerful magics, this armor will reflect spell attacks back at the caster. Although the wearer still suffers the effects of the attack, his opponent will be in for an unpleasant surprise.
The surface of this armor has a strange violet sheen. When worn, the effect seems to carry over to the skin of the wearer.
Dragonscale Armor
Thick, flexible armor crafted of golden Dragon scales. This fine armor is rumored to be part of a complete set of Dragon armor once worn by the Dark God Belial. It is said that gauntlets, bracers, and a ring form the whole of the set.  Artifact.
When worn alone, this armor offers limited protection from Ancient magic attacks. If wearing the DragonFire bracers, this armor will immolate when attacked by an opponent in melee range, doing Ancient fire damage. The armor will protect the wearer from 75% of the damage caused by the immolation. If the Dragonscale gauntlets are worn, the wearer is immune to the effects of the immolation.
Fine runework covers the individual scales of this armor, suggesting that it might convey other wardings.

Shields
Wooden Shield
A simple, oak shield bound with iron straps. Common.
A fine shield for a squire or for sparring, any experienced adventurer would become a laughing stock amongst his peers carrying around this shoddy piece of workmanship overlong.
This thing won't last long. Better find something more sturdy.
Fine leather buckler
A small, bone framed leather shield that straps to the forearm. Common.
This buckler will quickly loose it's usefulness when hunting the more dangerous prey.
The frail construction of this item makes its effectiveness against powerful attacks negligible.
Leather buckler
This heavy buckler is crafted of several overlapping strips of tanned, splinted leather. Common.
This buckler has no special properties. Once any type of shield becomes available, it's best to sell this smaller cousin off.
A more functional protective device then the ornamental bucklers worn by boar hunters.
Iron Shield
A well crafted, banded iron shield. Uncommon.
Offers additional protection against blunt and impact attacks.
A significant step up from its wooden counterpart, this is the best mundane shield to be found in Gladstone.
Spiked Iron Shield
The front of this well made shield bristles with sharp, iron spikes. Rare.
When using this shield, the damage of every close range physical attack is increased by 10 points.
The spikes that cover this shield are sure to aid in melee combat.
Bastion Shield
This well crafted target shield is covered with ridged holes and tiny spikes. Very Rare.
When used with the Halberd Bastion, this shield increases it's effectiveness by 25%. In addition, it will react to the presence of enemies, thumping with increasing frequency in time with their approach.
Bastion sprouts stunted iron pikes when enemies come within range.
Fire Shield
This large shield radiates heat, causing a shimmering  in the air around it. Very rare.
This shield conveys significant protection against fire based attacks by drawing heat out from the offending source. Unfortunately, the wielders body is not immune to this heat draining effect, and is therefore susceptible to cold based attacks while using the Fire Shield.
When carrying this shield, small fires tend to sputter and weaken in its presence.
Cowards Target Shield
This simple wooden shield is painted with the familiar target symbol on its front. Very rare.
The user of this shield has his might and protection reduced to zero.
This small shield conveys partial invisibility when used.
Death Stroke Shield
Death Stroke is crafted of cold black iron. The skull emblem on its face is crafted of compacted human bone. Artifact.
This shield has a 50% chance of negating physical damage if the total damage from the attack will kill the wearer.
When strapped to the arm, this shield appears to bond itself to the wearer by pricking the forearm and taking a small quantity of blood.

Rings, amulets and jewels

When worn, this ring increases the speed at which the wearer recovers from damage. It will also protect the wearer from a mortal blow. The latter effect will cause the ring to shatter and become useless.
Wearing this ring causes small cuts and bruises to vanish before the wearers eyes.
Kelen's Ring
A simple band of grey metal. Very rare.
When this ring is worn, the wearers bare-handed strikes will be that of a tigers claw, and will be accompanied by a loud growl.

Ring of Drakefire
A gold band with black etchings along it's surface. Artifact.
If worn without the Dragonscale gauntlets, Dragonscale Armor, and Dragonfire bracers, this ring will turn the spell group Spark into the spell group FireSpark until the ring is removed. If worn with all of the other Dragon items, the player will be able to cast from the FireSpark group at half the mana cost.
Brother to the other Dragon artifacts created by Belial, this ring is most powerful when worn with all of its counterparts.
Ring of Reflection
A segmented pewter ring with a rune covered stone band running along the inside. Artifact.
When worn, this ring reflects spells back at the caster 50% of the time. The wearer is still affected by the spell normally.
The wearer of this ring is surrounded by a pale violet aura at all times.
Jeweled Scarab
This elegantly designed artifact is worn as a brooch. A complex red rune has been etched into the belly of the scarab. Artifact.
When worn, this talisman absorbs half of the damage delivered by Ancient Magic attacks.
Wearing this scarab creates a faint aura of red magic around the user.
Dragon Gem
This large green gem emits a soft hum when held. Rare.
Taken from the gem found at the heart of a Dragon, this item, when worn as an amulet, gives the wearer limited protection from physical attacks.
When equipped with this gem, a faint tracery of ethereal green scales surrounds the user.
Drakelord Gem
This large green gem emits an audible hum when held near the heart. Artifact.
The Dragons were the first creation of the Ancients, and as such developed a partial resistance to their creators powers. In addition to affording the wearer a massive increase in overall protection, this relic reduces all damage done Ancient Magic by half, and also makes him immune to most types of poison.
The core of the gem found at the heart of an ancient Dragon, this item, when worn as an amulet, appears to give the wearer limited protection from physical attacks.
Colim's Amulet
This ornate sapphire pendant pulses in time with the wearers heartbeat. Artifact.
Created by a long dead Elven warlock,  this amulet gives the wearer limited protection from magical attacks.  It's most potent ability is its total resistance to magic draining.
Close inspection reveals a sliver of obsidian melded into the back of this pendant. Incredibly rare in the Lands, obsidian is said to have the power to absorb magical energy.
Stone of the Cobra
This tiny granite statuette can be worn as an amulet. Artifact.
When worn, this device will halve the weapon recovery time of melee weapons.
Placing this relic around the neck produces a hastening effect, causing everything nearby to move at a slightly slower rate.
Valkyrie Charm
A simple knot of braided hair bound with a green ribbon. Very Rare.
This totem protects offers the wearer increased protection against all attacks, as well as increasing prowess in battle.
This carefully woven braid and magically embroidered ribbon combine to form a powerful magic talisman.

A significant increase of vitality is evidenced when clutching this stone in combat.
Heart of Sunrise
A simple stone that prettily reflects the light of the sun. Artifact.
This ancient Dragon artifact channels the light of the sun into energy. When equipped, hit points regenerate at 4 times their normal rate.
When passed over the skin, this stone appears to heal wounds and remove scars.
Kieran's Circlet
This ornate blue-grey tiara is set with a ring of small sapphires. Artifact.
This band conveys protection as if wearing standard plate mail, but  cannot be used in conjunction with any other body armor.
When placed atop the head, this artifact creates a shimmering suit of ethereal blue plate mail around the wearer
Ruby of Truth
A large ruby pendant hanging from a gold chain. Artifact.
This item seems a bit too valuable to be in the hands of a fellow like Mauri.
A legendary Ancient artifact of Gladstone and beyond. Better be careful.

Gloves, bracers and gauntlets
Leather Gloves
Skintight brown leather gloves. Common.
These gloves afford a small amount of added protection to the wearer.
These gloves do not seem to have any special properties.
Chainmail gloves
Well crafted gloves forged of small iron rings. Common.
When worn, these gloves add to the wearers protection. They are best left behind or sold when better equipment becomes available.
Although heavier then leather, the increased protection provided by chainmail makes them worth the extra effort.
Fine Bracers
These light arm guards are crafted of thin, hammered metal. Uncommon.
Better for ornamental use then actual combat, it's best to wear these during parades.
The weak construction of these bracers  is evidenced as soon as they are worn for the first time.
Platemail Bracers
Strong bracers forged of overlapping iron plates. Uncommon.
Without using enchanted items, this is the best in bracers you can buy.
The workmanship that has gone into forging these bracers is evidenced in the careful scrollwork that adorns them.
Gargoyle Bracers
This pair of arcane bracers were forged by the Ancient Imp Lords. Artifact.
The wearer has his casting costs for all summoning spells reduced by 25%.
Perhaps as a result of enhanced perceptions, the wearer of these fine bracers can sense that the barriers between the worlds grown thin wherever he passes.
Stone Bracers
A set of carved stone bracers. Rare.
These heavy bracers reduce protection, but make the wearer immune to the effects of all poison.
Stone seems a poor choice of material for armor. Perhaps the form was required to achieve some inobvious effect?
Mana Bracers
Fine platinum bracers studded with sapphires and rubies. Artifact.
When worn, these bracers increases the wearers base mana by 25% while decreasing his base hit points by 25%.
There appears to be a shifting of balance within when wearing these ornate bands.
Bracers of Valor
A pair of finely hammered ornamental bracers. Very Rare.
When combined with the War Axe Traitor, these bracers protect the wielder from the backlash effects of the axe.
Close scrutiny reveals the image of an axe etched into the plates of these bracers.
Dragonfire Bracers
Fine bracers forged of golden dragon scales, these are rumored to be the very bracers worn by either Belial or Luther in their final battle for the Lands. The answer and the truth to who truly wore them depends on whom you ask. Artifact.
These bracers will cause the wearer to immolate when attacked by an opponent in melee range. The wearer of the bracers will suffer the same damage that is dealt to his opponent. However, if he is wearing the Dragonscale Gauntlets, he will take only 75% of the damage.  If he is wearing the Dragonscale Armor, he will take only 25% of the damage. If wearing the entire set, the wearer will be immune to the fire of the bracers.
The heat generated by these bracers is almost intolerable, but their enhanced protection and fiery defenses make it well worth the pain.

These oversized gauntlets can stun susceptible foes.
Take caution if wearing  these gloves while not in combat.

Heavy gauntlets forged of overlapping metal plates. Rare.

Gauntlets of Speed
Light leather gauntlets with small green feathers sewn into them. Very rare.
Wearing these gloves Increases the users movement and attack speed by 25%.
When these gauntlets are being worn, time seems to run at a slightly slower rate.
Dragonscale Gauntlets
Crafted of carefully shaped golden Dragon scales. Artifact.
These gauntlets will protect the wearer from 25% of the immolation effects of Dragonfire bracers, as well as offering some limited protection against normal magic attacks. Part of the complete suit of Belial's armor, these gauntlets are best worn when combined with Dragonscale armor, Dragonfire bracers, and the Ring of Drakefire.
A circular indentation found in a finger on the right glove of this pair indicate that a ring was once worn with them.

Other Items

This cap causes the wearer to fall asleep when he is inactive for more then a few seconds.
Ivory Chip
A small chip of cracked, yellowed ivory with a rune etched in it. Rare.
When equipped, each chip adds 5 to the users maximum mana pool.
These chips seem to focus the mana of their owner through the rune carved into its surface.

When worn, this enchanted mask makes the user invisible as long as the he remains motionless.
The benefits of this mask are difficult to discern, but it sure looks good!
