Armor
Fine leather armor
This is a well tooled ornamental suit of leather armor. Common.
Acceptable for hunting boar from horseback, this armor will quickly
loose it's usefulness when hunting more dangerous prey.
The worked leather that this attractive suit is crafted from would
seem to offer a poor defense against any form of attack.
Leather Armor
This heavy armor is crafted of many overlapping strips of tanned, padded
leather. Common.
Because of the oils used in it's manufacture, this armor also affords
limited protection against natural fire damage.
More functional then the more ornamental suits worn by boar hunting
parties, this
armor offers reasonable protection for the beginning adventurer.
Studded leather armor
This simple suit of leather armor is covered with rounded iron studs.
Uncommon.
The thick padding and metal ingots that adorn this armor offer added
protection against attacks by blunt weapons.
The heavy studs that adorn this armor appear dented and worn.
Soft Leather Armor
A suit of finely crafted leather armor that is so well made it could
pass for clothing. Very rare.
The material of this armor has been treated with a special unguent
that renders the wearer immune to acid attacks, and reduces damage from
fire by half.
The surface of this leather armor is soft, pliant, and slightly damp
to the touch.
Chainmail shirt
A standard In the Gladstone Guards uniform, this shirt of iron rings
protects the wearer from harm. Common.
When worn, this shirt gives added protection against physical piercing
attacks.
Chainmail offers significant protection against arrows and crossbow
bolts.
Obsidian Chainmail
This magical armor is crafted of fine stone links. Artifact.
This suit of chainmail offers significant protection against magic
and most forms of physical attack. Beware opponents capable of piercing
attacks, which can more easily penetrate the armors rings.
Lighter in the wearing than it would seem, each ring of this beautiful
suit of chainmail has been lightly etched with runes.
Platemail Breastplate
This well crafted breastplate has reinforced leather straps and protects
the wearer from damage. Uncommon.
This armor is most useful against edged or blunt attacks. Use caution
when facing foes that employ electrical or fire based attacks.
The protection provided by this breastplate is superior to other lesser
forms of armor.
Field Platemail
This well crafted suit of armor covers the chest, back, and upper arms.
It has reinforced leather straps and protects the wearer from damage.
Rare.
This armor is most useful against edged or blunt attacks. Use caution
when facing foes that employ electrical or fire based attacks.
The plates of this armor are thick and ridged, making it useful against
most forms of physical attack.
Full Platemail
This well crafted suit of armor covers the entire body in overlapping
iron plates. It has reinforced leather straps and protects the wearer
from damage. It is the most effective form of mundane armor available,
and is at times more resilient then some magical protections. Very Rare.

when facing foes that employ electrical or fire based attacks.
The plates of this armor are thick and ridged, making it useful against
most forms of physical attack.
Reflective Platemail
This is a suit of finely crafted ornamental platemail. Artifact.
Enchanted with powerful magics, this armor will reflect spell attacks
back at the caster. Although the wearer still suffers the effects of the
attack, his opponent will be in for an unpleasant surprise.
The surface of this armor has a strange violet sheen. When worn, the
effect seems to carry over to the skin of the wearer.
Dragonscale Armor
Thick, flexible armor crafted of golden Dragon scales. This fine armor
is rumored to be part of a complete set of Dragon armor once worn by the
Dark God Belial. It is said that gauntlets, bracers, and a ring form the
whole of the set. Artifact.
When worn alone, this armor offers limited protection from Ancient
magic attacks. If wearing the DragonFire bracers, this armor will immolate
when attacked by an opponent in melee range, doing Ancient fire damage.
The armor will protect the wearer from 75% of the damage caused by the
immolation. If the Dragonscale gauntlets are worn, the wearer is immune
to the effects of the immolation.
Fine runework covers the individual scales of this armor, suggesting
that it might convey other wardings.
Shields
Wooden Shield
A simple, oak shield bound with iron straps. Common.
A fine shield for a squire or for sparring, any experienced adventurer
would become a laughing stock amongst his peers carrying around this shoddy
piece of workmanship overlong.
This thing won't last long. Better find something more sturdy.
Fine leather buckler
A small, bone framed leather shield that straps to the forearm. Common.
This buckler will quickly loose it's usefulness when hunting the more
dangerous prey.
The frail construction of this item makes its effectiveness against
powerful attacks negligible.
Leather buckler
This heavy buckler is crafted of several overlapping strips of tanned,
splinted leather. Common.
This buckler has no special properties. Once any type of shield becomes
available, it's best to sell this smaller cousin off.
A more functional protective device then the ornamental bucklers worn
by boar hunters.
Iron Shield
A well crafted, banded iron shield. Uncommon.
Offers additional protection against blunt and impact attacks.
A significant step up from its wooden counterpart, this is the best
mundane shield to be found in Gladstone.
Spiked Iron Shield
The front of this well made shield bristles with sharp, iron spikes.
Rare.
When using this shield, the damage of every close range physical attack
is increased by 10 points.
The spikes that cover this shield are sure to aid in melee combat.
Bastion Shield
This well crafted target shield is covered with ridged holes and tiny
spikes. Very Rare.
When used with the Halberd Bastion, this shield increases it's effectiveness
by 25%. In addition, it will react to the presence of enemies, thumping
with increasing frequency in time with their approach.
Bastion sprouts stunted iron pikes when enemies come within range.
Fire Shield
This large shield radiates heat, causing a shimmering in the
air around it. Very rare.
This shield conveys significant protection against fire based attacks
by drawing heat out from the offending source. Unfortunately, the wielders
body is not immune to this heat draining effect, and is therefore susceptible
to cold based attacks while using the Fire Shield.
When carrying this shield, small fires tend to sputter and weaken in
its presence.
Cowards Target Shield
This simple wooden shield is painted with the familiar target symbol
on its front. Very rare.
The user of this shield has his might and protection reduced to zero.
This small shield conveys partial invisibility when used.
Death Stroke Shield
Death Stroke is crafted of cold black iron. The skull emblem on its
face is crafted of compacted human bone. Artifact.
This shield has a 50% chance of negating physical damage if the total
damage from the attack will kill the wearer.
When strapped to the arm, this shield appears to bond itself to the
wearer by pricking the forearm and taking a small quantity of blood.
Rings, amulets and jewels
Lesser Bezoar Ring
This is a simple gold ring with a very small emerald set in it. Rare.
The organic material buried at the heart of this ring protects the
wearer from the effects of Lesser Poison.
A faint green glow can be detected coming from the stone set in this
ring.
Greater Bezoar Ring
This is a simple gold ring with a large emerald set in it. Very rare.
The organic material buried at the heart of this ring protects the
wearer from the effects of Greater Poison.
A green glow can be detected coming from the stone set in this ring.
Cat ring
This simple band is very light, hanging briefly in the air when tossed
in the palm of the hand. Very rare.
When worn, this ring reduces damage taken from falling by half.
Wearing the Cat Ring increases both balance and reflexes.
Ring of Regeneration
This gold ring has a simple rune inscribed inside the band. Rare.
When worn, this ring increases the speed at which the wearer recovers
from damage. It will also protect the wearer from a mortal blow. The latter
effect will cause the ring to shatter and become useless.
Wearing this ring causes small cuts and bruises to vanish before the
wearers eyes.
Kelen's Ring
A simple band of grey metal. Very rare.
When this ring is worn, the wearers bare-handed strikes will be that
of a tigers claw, and will be accompanied by a loud growl.
When worn by an unarmed adventurer, this ring causes short, phantasmal
talons to appear over the fingers of each hand.
Ring of Drakefire
A gold band with black etchings along it's surface. Artifact.
If worn without the Dragonscale gauntlets, Dragonscale Armor, and Dragonfire
bracers, this ring will turn the spell group Spark into the spell group
FireSpark until the ring is removed. If worn with all of the other Dragon
items, the player will be able to cast from the FireSpark group at half
the mana cost.
Brother to the other Dragon artifacts created by Belial, this ring
is most powerful when worn with all of its counterparts.
Ring of Reflection
A segmented pewter ring with a rune covered stone band running along
the inside. Artifact.
When worn, this ring reflects spells back at the caster 50% of the
time. The wearer is still affected by the spell normally.
The wearer of this ring is surrounded by a pale violet aura at all
times.
Jeweled Scarab
This elegantly designed artifact is worn as a brooch. A complex red
rune has been etched into the belly of the scarab. Artifact.
When worn, this talisman absorbs half of the damage delivered by Ancient
Magic attacks.
Wearing this scarab creates a faint aura of red magic around the user.
Dragon Gem
This large green gem emits a soft hum when held. Rare.
Taken from the gem found at the heart of a Dragon, this item, when
worn as an amulet, gives the wearer limited protection from physical attacks.
When equipped with this gem, a faint tracery of ethereal green scales
surrounds the user.
Drakelord Gem
This large green gem emits an audible hum when held near the heart.
Artifact.
The Dragons were the first creation of the Ancients, and as such developed
a partial resistance to their creators powers. In addition to affording
the wearer a massive increase in overall protection, this relic reduces
all damage done Ancient Magic by half, and also makes him immune to most
types of poison.
The core of the gem found at the heart of an ancient Dragon, this item,
when worn as an amulet, appears to give the wearer limited protection from
physical attacks.
Colim's Amulet
This ornate sapphire pendant pulses in time with the wearers heartbeat.
Artifact.
Created by a long dead Elven warlock, this amulet gives the wearer
limited protection from magical attacks. It's most potent ability
is its total resistance to magic draining.
Close inspection reveals a sliver of obsidian melded into the back
of this pendant. Incredibly rare in the Lands, obsidian is said to have
the power to absorb magical energy.
Stone of the Cobra
This tiny granite statuette can be worn as an amulet. Artifact.
When worn, this device will halve the weapon recovery time of melee
weapons.
Placing this relic around the neck produces a hastening effect, causing
everything nearby to move at a slightly slower rate.
Valkyrie Charm
A simple knot of braided hair bound with a green ribbon. Very Rare.
This totem protects offers the wearer increased protection against
all attacks, as well as increasing prowess in battle.
This carefully woven braid and magically embroidered ribbon combine
to form a powerful magic talisman.
Warstone
A simple river worn stone with a single rune etched in it's surface.
Rare.
When equipped, this stone increases the users hit point total by 25%.
If the stone is removed while current totals are in this buffer range,
the user will die
A significant increase of vitality is evidenced when clutching this
stone in combat.
Heart of Sunrise
A simple stone that prettily reflects the light of the sun. Artifact.
This ancient Dragon artifact channels the light of the sun into energy.
When equipped, hit points regenerate at 4 times their normal rate.
When passed over the skin, this stone appears to heal wounds and remove
scars.
Kieran's Circlet
This ornate blue-grey tiara is set with a ring of small sapphires.
Artifact.
This band conveys protection as if wearing standard plate mail, but
cannot be used in conjunction with any other body armor.
When placed atop the head, this artifact creates a shimmering suit
of ethereal blue plate mail around the wearer
Ruby of Truth
A large ruby pendant hanging from a gold chain. Artifact.
This item seems a bit too valuable to be in the hands of a fellow like
Mauri.
A legendary Ancient artifact of Gladstone and beyond. Better be careful.
Gloves, bracers and gauntlets
Leather Gloves
Skintight brown leather gloves. Common.
These gloves afford a small amount of added protection to the wearer.
These gloves do not seem to have any special properties.
Chainmail gloves
Well crafted gloves forged of small iron rings. Common.
When worn, these gloves add to the wearers protection. They are best
left behind or sold when better equipment becomes available.
Although heavier then leather, the increased protection provided by
chainmail makes them worth the extra effort.
Fine Bracers
These light arm guards are crafted of thin, hammered metal. Uncommon.
Better for ornamental use then actual combat, it's best to wear these
during parades.
The weak construction of these bracers is evidenced as soon as
they are worn for the first time.
Platemail Bracers
Strong bracers forged of overlapping iron plates. Uncommon.
Without using enchanted items, this is the best in bracers you can
buy.
The workmanship that has gone into forging these bracers is evidenced
in the careful scrollwork that adorns them.
Gargoyle Bracers
This pair of arcane bracers were forged by the Ancient Imp Lords. Artifact.
The wearer has his casting costs for all summoning spells reduced by
25%.
Perhaps as a result of enhanced perceptions, the wearer of these fine
bracers can sense that the barriers between the worlds grown thin wherever
he passes.
Stone Bracers
A set of carved stone bracers. Rare.
These heavy bracers reduce protection, but make the wearer immune to
the effects of all poison.
Stone seems a poor choice of material for armor. Perhaps the form was
required to achieve some inobvious effect?
Mana Bracers
Fine platinum bracers studded with sapphires and rubies. Artifact.
When worn, these bracers increases the wearers base mana by 25% while
decreasing his base hit points by 25%.
There appears to be a shifting of balance within when wearing these
ornate bands.
Bracers of Valor
A pair of finely hammered ornamental bracers. Very Rare.
When combined with the War Axe Traitor, these bracers protect the wielder
from the backlash effects of the axe.
Close scrutiny reveals the image of an axe etched into the plates of
these bracers.
Dragonfire Bracers
Fine bracers forged of golden dragon scales, these are rumored to be
the very bracers worn by either Belial or Luther in their final battle
for the Lands. The answer and the truth to who truly wore them depends
on whom you ask. Artifact.
These bracers will cause the wearer to immolate when attacked by an
opponent in melee range. The wearer of the bracers will suffer the same
damage that is dealt to his opponent. However, if he is wearing the Dragonscale
Gauntlets, he will take only 75% of the damage. If he is wearing
the Dragonscale Armor, he will take only 25% of the damage. If wearing
the entire set, the wearer will be immune to the fire of the bracers.
The heat generated by these bracers is almost intolerable, but their
enhanced protection and fiery defenses make it well worth the pain.
Gauntlets of Striking
These heavy gauntlets have weighted finger guards. Rare.
These oversized gauntlets can stun susceptible foes.
Take caution if wearing these gloves while not in combat.
Gauntlets of Might
Heavy gauntlets forged of overlapping metal plates. Rare.
When worn, these gauntlets increase the wearers base might by 25 points.
Also, they can wield the legendary Reaver of the Great Orc without penalties.
The personal strength of anyone wearing these oversized gauntlets increases
considerably. They also allow the wearer to achieve feats of strength unachievable
by most humans.
Gauntlets of Speed
Light leather gauntlets with small green feathers sewn into them. Very
rare.
Wearing these gloves Increases the users movement and attack speed
by 25%.
When these gauntlets are being worn, time seems to run at a slightly
slower rate.
Dragonscale Gauntlets
Crafted of carefully shaped golden Dragon scales. Artifact.
These gauntlets will protect the wearer from 25% of the immolation
effects of Dragonfire bracers, as well as offering some limited protection
against normal magic attacks. Part of the complete suit of Belial's armor,
these gauntlets are best worn when combined with Dragonscale armor, Dragonfire
bracers, and the Ring of Drakefire.
A circular indentation found in a finger on the right glove of this
pair indicate that a ring was once worn with them.
Other Items
Coco's cap
The label inside this hat reads - Property of Rick Gush. Very Rare.
If the user succumbs to the effects of this cap, it restores 50 points
of health and mana before vanishing.
This cap causes the wearer to fall asleep when he is inactive for more
then a few seconds.
Ivory Chip
A small chip of cracked, yellowed ivory with a rune etched in it. Rare.
When equipped, each chip adds 5 to the users maximum mana pool.
These chips seem to focus the mana of their owner through the rune
carved into its surface.
Masque of Shadows
A plain mask of black cloth. Artifact.
When worn, this enchanted mask makes the user invisible as long as
the he remains motionless.
The benefits of this mask are difficult to discern, but it sure looks
good!
Iron Rod
A short metal rod wrapped in wire. Very rare.
When equipped, the iron rod makes the user immune to all types of electrical
damage.
This simple device gathers electricity into itself and harmlessly discharges
it into the ground.
