Dune 1

Posted by paul the wanderer on 09/17/98 06:43:05:

Okay... I'm tired of all these references to Dune 1. I even read a review that referred to how Dune 1 was
the "original" and Dune 2 was just a better version. I'm sure that a lot you out there know this but let's make it
clear to the rest of the crowd: Dune 2 was given the dubious 2 because there were two games in development
at the time. The other game (Dune) was started before Dune 2 by some british company and the only
thing that it had in common with Dune 2 was the Dune theme. There was no real-time strategy, it was
more of an adventure game (I believe). Dune 2 was the original RTS.
By the way, I bought Dune 2000 the day that it came out and was not disappointed. If you're expecting
an improved Dune 2 you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a new game you'll have to wait.
