I am not going to insult you. I just wanted to put in a couple of comments.
First thing is, this is a bit unrelated by say you went to a place (I want name names, but) where everyone there believed in a religion, and they bombed and terrorized all the "non believers". Would you go there, and scream "This religion sucks! Don't waste your time with it!". Think about it, and its relation to Dune 2000 fans.
Another thing, is while thats nice to tell people not to waste your money, you have to learn how to appreciate. Like I've said before, I'm a programmer in all major languages. And it is no easy thing. There's nothing worse then to work day after day, hour after hour, tediously programming to release a program finally, and someone say 'this sucks compared to other things, don't waste your money'. Now maybe the product DID suck compared to other things. (I was happy with my purchase of Dune 2000, however) But despite what some might think, when someone releases something using "3d, 3d, acceleration, DirectX, etc." you can't always just follow other people. You have no idea how there code works until they release an example, or someone releases a FAQ on it to programmers.
Anyone, before I ramble TOO much, I would just want to say that one should appreciate ANYTHING programmed. It means people took the time, to work as a group, and make a product. Programming in C/C++ is much easier-- you have a bounch of predetermined commands and stuff to use. Most games now consist of low level programming, which involves fiddling around with interrups, vectors, and subfunctions, and EVERY company has to do this. Sound like fun? It isin't. One of the only aspects of programming which aren't very fun. Its also one of the most vital, necessary, and used. As a matter of fact, everything is based around that (and ports and stuff for mouse and joystick).
Maybe its not worth paying $40. But I at least hope you realize that you can't go into a Dune 2000 board and say it sucks without being flamed, likewise you can't a TA board, etc. etc. And if you must say it sucks, try to say it less outright. Sometimes its hard to realize how much effort can go into a product. Just changing a pixel in SVGA can be difficult if you don't know what you're doing.
